Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park (CHJ) was approved as a state-level economic and technological development zone in 1988 as well as a national hi-tech industrial development zone in year 1991. In year 2000, it was honored as one of the APEC Science and Technology Industrial Parks in China. CHJ is the first state-level Hi-Tech Park in China that was respectively honored ISO 9001 Quality Management System in 2000 and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2002.
CHJ Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is concentrated on the development of IT industries, such as Micro-Electronics, Optical-Electronics and Computer & Software, meanwhile encourages the development of other Hi-Tech industries such as New Material, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Aeronautics & Astronautics, New Energy, Electronic Instruments & Meters. CHJ Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is becoming a creative and competitive Hi-Tech industrial park with cumulative effects by absorbing international talents, capitals, technologies and management.
As a new-round development base of CHJ , the 8.3 sq. km CHJ Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is composed of three parts, Caohejing Export & Processing Zone (EPZ) , the hi-tech industrial Zone, and the mixed-use plot. Great emphasis has been attached to the environment construction, which is tailored according to the concept of harmonious human & nature relations and is regarded as an integral part of the infrastructure construction. SOM Company and PSA Company are designated to make the park master plan. The natural scenery will be reserved as much as possible so as to maintain its original flavor and to create a comfortable working environment. CHJ Pujiang Hi-Tech Park will also carry out the ISO14001 program to guide the environmental protection.
