As the hub in the west of the the Yangtze Delta, or
WEDA in abbreviation, is an idea place for business in Central China and
East China such as manufacturing place or logistic center due to great
transportation advantage.
Geographical Location
Wuhu lies in the southeast of Anhui Province and in the lower
reaches of the Yangtze River which includes 230 KM3 of city proper and
720,000 of city population. Wuhu city is an important industrial and
commercial city along Yangtze River, the State-level Tourism City with
an ideal place to live and also the joint area of central China and the
Yangtze Delta. Within a radius of 400 km from the area, there are 30 big
cities with population of 250 million so it is the most prosperous area
in China.
Climate

City is at Longitude 119'21"E, Latitude 31'20"N. Subtropical humid
monsoon climate is available around Wuhu with the palpable four seasons
as well as the annual average temperature between 150C -160C, the
frost-free period between 219 days and 240 days, the annual average
precipitation is 1300mm.
Communication & Transportation
WEDA's growth can not separate from its
rapid infrastructural development. Almost 4 billion RMB of appropriation
had been invested in the infrastructure of the area, including 72
kilometers of highways, 19 kilometers of water supply lines and 86
kilometers of sewage. There are series of transformer substations, water
supply stations, gas stations and power stations in WEDA. Roads, water
supply pipe, electrical wire, gas pipe, steam pipe, broadband
communications have been established in every industrial block.
Port and Facility
Wuhu port is the last fine deepwater port here
going against the Yangtze River. It is main foreign trade base and
oversea transportation center. There are more than 70 berths in Wuhu
port with capacity of tens of thousands tons. Goods can be forwarded to
every main international port from Wuhu through connected shipping.
Railway Network
Five railways, Wuhu-Nanjing line, Wuhu-Tongling
line, Wuhu-Huainan line, Xuanzhou-Hangzhou line, Wan-Han line cross
through Wuhu. There is the biggest railway distribution center in East
China, Xioa Yang Cun distribution center in WEDA. Having had Wuhu
Yangtze River Bridge, Wuhu has become the second key spot of railway
transportation in East China.
Road and Highway
Highways connect Wuhu Economic & Technological Development
Area with Hefei to the north, Wuhu and Nanjing to the east and Wuhu and
Hangzhou to the southeast.
Airport
It takes 1 hour from Wuhu to Nanjing
Lukou International Airport and to Hefei Luogang Airport.
