Scam 3
- Foreign Financial Institute Sponsored Investment Opportunity
Fundamentally, this internet scam uses exactly same technique as "Confidential illegal funds diversion" scam
and "World Bank approved payment claim".
It is also a variation of the most classical worldwide financial scam
means, targeting a wide range of businesses and individuals with similar
amount of funds as attractions. However, this scam is little more
difficult to identify as it used very professional language and stole
the logos of two legitimate financial institutions.
Nevertheless, there are still some clear problems in the email. First,
it used very personal email addresses; and second, it used Chairman of
the institute as contact person. Probably, we have never seen such a
senior executive to work on a routine business like this.
The consequence is equally severe if someone starts to think what's said
in email might be real. An actual email representing this category of
scam and fraud in its entirety is displayed below. It is advised that
everyone should immediately discard this type of emails or
advertisements when seeing them.
