Transport logistic is the most important trade show in Europe and all over
the world. It will be held every 2 years. The 11th transport logistic was
held from 12 to 15, June 2007 in Munich Germany. It attracted 1,580 exhibitors
from 57 countries and 47,000 professional visitors from 113 countries. Transport
logistic China is the counterpart of transport logistic, is based on the
successful concept of transport logistic in Munich and profits from the
Munich Trade Fair International (MMI) Group‘s
international network. After the first show in 2004, it has been held successfully
for twice, and becomes the industry's leading exhibition.
Globalization and booming business in the transport and logistics sector
have been reflected in full at transport logistic China 2008 in Shanghai
with more visitors, more exhibitors and a significantly higher level of
Chinese participation than ever. The 3rd International Trade Fair for Logistics,
Telematics and Transportation took place between 17 and 19 June 2008 at
the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It attracted 11,000 trade visitors
from 66 countries and regions though the event had been shortened from four
to three days. This is a rise of 22 percent compared to the last transport
logistic trade fair. “These figures show that the event is now established
as the most important business platform in China and Asia for the logistics
industry. It addressed all the trend themes for the sector,” said Eugen
Egetenmeir, Deputy Managing Director of Messe München International (MMI).
This year, the demand of space was stronger than ever. More than 430 exhibitors
from 46 countries presented their services and products at the Shanghai
New International Expo Centre. By comparison, at the previous event in 2006
there was a total of 302 exhibitors from 33 countries. This means more participating
countries and a 43 percent increase in exhibitor numbers in 2008. The level
of Chinese participation has risen strongly, by over 55 percent up to 120
exhibitors. “transport logistic China 2008 will definitely promote the communication
and collaboration between foreign businesses in the logistic sectors and
their Chinese counterparts”, said Qian Yongchang, Chairman of the China
Communications and Transport Association (CCTA) at the Opening Ceremony
of transport logistic China. “Consequently, it will further strengthen the
development of Chinese logistic industry in a swift and refined way.”
