Beijing Capital International AirportAs one of five major international airports in China, Capital International Airport (Airport Code: PEK) services the largest number of international and domestic airlines, around 200 in total. Started March, 2007, United Airlines commenced non-stop daily services between Beijing and Washington D.C. so travelers in D.C. can fly to Beijing directly without changing planes in Germany or Japan. As of today, there are eight daily flights operated by various airlines are now serving the routes between Beijing and major cities in the United States, including New York,  Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Washington DC. On the hand, the international passengers from all over the world can reach every destination conveniently via the Capital Airport.

The airport is located  to the northeast of downtown Beijing in Shunyi District, some 16 miles from city center, the Tiananmen Square. The civil aviation authority provides convenient and comfortable round trip shuttle services between the airport and various locations in the city, with one bus departing the airport every 30 minutes at a cost of 16 Yuan per person. Alternatively, taxi services are available for approximately 120 Yuan to most downtown locations. Although taxi services in Beijing are typically metered,  the frequent travelers usually bargain with the driver to get better prices. Ticketing Offices of most domestic airlines are located at 15 West Changing Street. There are designated ticket counters for foreign passengers. You must present a valid identification when purchasing tickets. The Beijing Capital International Airport's information hotline is  010- 64563604.
