As the largest city China, Shanghai has been enjoying extremely convenient transportation for many years. In terms of intra city transportation, Shanghai also has one of the best city bus and subway networks in the world. In addition, there are over 80,000 taxi cabs running in every corner of the city. In order to better serve the World Expo, over 100,000 taxi drivers had been required to speak basic English. If you are traveling in and out Shanghai, transportation is equally convenient. The newly renovated international airport now handles over two thousands daily flights servicing large number of domestic destinations in all thirty provinces and special districts. The airport is also one of China's three major international gateways, with daily flight services to more than hundred international cities or regions. The improved railway systems can also provide fast and comfortable transportations to hundreds domestic cities.

A number of train routes, such Shanghai to Beijing, Hangzhou Shanghai, Xian Shanghai, Ningbo Shanghai, Guangzhou Shanghai and Shenzhen Shanghai, make it very convenient to travel by train. Particularly, the express trains running between Beijing Shanghai non-stop only take ten hours to transport passengers from Shanghai to Beijing.

There are three train stations in Shanghai: Shanghai Station, West Station and Shanghai South Station. Shanghai Station is the principal train station, serving over 70  major scheduled trains daily from and to major cities in China, such as Shanghai-Beijing, Shanghai-Shenzhen, Guangzhou Shanghai, Xian Shanghai. The West Station serves the scheduled trains the following routes: Shanghai - Yantai, Shanghai-Ganzhou, Shanghai-Chengdu, as well as a special  Shanghai-Zhangjiajie route, taking tourists to the popular tourism destination in Hunan province. The South Station serves 11 daily scheduled trains, including Hangzhou Shanghai, Jiashan Shanghai and Jinshan Shanghai.

The Shanghai Station is newly renovated. Its mail hall has two entrances in north and south respectively. This railway station is modernized with various high tech facilities such as satellite navigations system, automated electronic information boards. There is a direct underground pathway connecting the terminal and the subway station. Several bus routes are available right outside both exits.

Tourists can take the following bus routes: 13, 41, 63, 95, 104, 106, 109, 114, 115, 17, 902, 903, 904, 906, 502, 506, 507, 508, 598, 3 tunnels, 302, 305, 306, 308, 310, 315, 322, 324, 328, 329 subway at night. VIP waiting rooms are available for passengers holding VIP cabin tickets.

Meilong station is a small and flexible type of train station in shanghai. It serves four scheduled trains between Hangzhou Shanghai. Passengers are permitted to buy tickets after boarding. Hangzhou Shanghai route operates high-speed trains. Total durations is around one hour. Meilong station is connected directly with subway route 1.

Address: Meilong, shanghai. Taking subway route 1 at Jinjiang Merryland Station is the best way to get to the Meilong Railway station.

Certain scheduled trains in the following routes depart and arrive at the west station: Baotou Shanghai, Qiqihar Shanghai, Yantai Shanghai, Changchun Shanghai, Hengyang Shanghai, Guangzhou Shanghai, Ningbo Shanghai and Nanjing Shanghai. Please check with the shanghai train stations directly for more accurate information.
